Where to Play Golf on the Bellarine Peninsula

Clifton Springs Golf Club

Situated near Drysdale, Clifton Springs Golf Club features a picturesque layout bordering Corio Bay.

With spectacular views across Corio Bay to the You Yangs, the course, a par 71 of 5,783 metres for men and a par 72 of 5,213 metres for women, has Legend Couch fairways and subtly sloping greens.  It provides a real challenge to players of all abilities, whether or not they have an official handicap.

Green fee players are always welcome, while visitors with an official handicap may enter Club competitions which are held for Men on Tuesdays and Saturdays, Women on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Medley events for both on Thursdays.

Clifton Springs is central to Port Philip Heads and Geelong, in the middle of the Bellarine wine district and a short drive from the holiday centres of Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove and Portarlington. Within easy access to both bay and surf beaches and the boat ramp, the golf course provides that perfect addition to a day trip or longer break.

The Clubhouse is open for lunch and dinner in the Bayside Bistro 7 days a week, and bar snacks are available throughout the day. Unwind after your game of golf with a drink and a snack or visit the bistro for lunch or an evening meal whilst enjoying the fantastic views. Phone 5253 1488 for bookings.

Geelong Golf Club

After being closed for more than a decade, the Geelong Golf Club has re-opened with a new look.

The previous 18 hole course has been replaced with a nine hole layout within a residential estate. The new course has a more contemporary working model enabling shorter playing times with a less physically demanding experience.

It is a fun and strategic design, and while not overly long, itís a continual test of the golferís game.

The Graham Papworth designed course has Santa Ana Couch fairways, bent grass greens and includes four par 3ís, four par fourís, and a par five.

ďOur primary objective was to plan a good golf course that would offer an enjoyable challenge to all standards of golfer and at the same time create a premium asset within the estate for future home owners. The resulting nine hole golf course is a par 33 of 2150m in length which should have a regular playing time of about 90 minutes, which is very appropriate in todayís time poor society.Ē

The course has a superb practice area with five target greens spread across two split fairways. There is two chipping greens and a large practice putting area.

The course is open to the general public 7 days a week. Bookings can be made by calling the golf shop on 5278 6000.

Several categories of memberships are available starting from $13.45 P/w.

Green Fees are from just $17.00
